Hello everyone, and welcome back to another edition of Old Time Radio History. Now, we’ve covered well known programs, individual shows, and even down to the skits and gags performed on certain shows. BUT, we’re going to break into some uncharted territory for this series, and dive into the shows that were successful crossovers to from the radio waves to the airwaves. And, sticking with the pattern, we’re gonna go with
To be fair, there was a television show in that era known as “My Favorite Husband”, but that’s not the show I’m actually referring to here, because it didn’t involve the two characters that made this show famous, Lucille Ball and Richard Denning. When the opportunity to move to television came up, they replaced Richard Denning with Desi Arnaz at the request of Lucille Ball, and well, the rest is history. “I Love Lucy” is one of the best comedy programs in history.
