Hello everyone, and welcome back to “Let’s Go To The Matches”! Now, sometimes, there’s a theme to these posts, whether planned or unplanned. Well, today is one of those planned themes. I decided to go with the first four singles match winners in the big 4 of WWE’s history. Well, I picked a “singles” win out of the first Survivor Series match. Otherwise, I would have waited until 1991 with Undertaker’s first WWE World Championship win over Hulk Hogan. But, enough about the semantics, let’s go to the ring!
Opened WrestleMania I vs The Executioner.
Opened the only non-PPV edition of the Royal Rumble vs Rick Rude
Was actually the second match of SummerSlam, following the Time Limit Draw of The Fabulous Rougeaus vs The British Bulldogs. Bad News Brown squared off against Ken Patera.
Randy Savage was one of three survivors of the first Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match, along side Ricky Steamboat and Jake Roberts. Them, along with Brutus Beefcake and Jim Duggan faced off against The Honky Tonk Man, Hercules, “Dangerous” Danny Davis, Ron Bass and Harley Race.
Well, that’s all the matches for tonight. Until next time, I am the Baumeister, and I have been, obediently yours.
