Old Time Radio History #7

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another edition of “Old Time Radio History”.  It’s an odd-numbered post, so you know what that means…

It’s time for another radio drama.  And do I have a doozy for you today.  It’s one of the most iconic police procedural dramas in history.  I give you…

Yes.  Sgt. Joe Friday (played by Jack Webb) and his dry delivery originally came to us from the radio.  And the show has given us a lasting impact that will still be felt for generations to come.  Besides the very omnipresent introductory theme, to the use of A.P.B. and M.O. in today’s vernacular, Dragnet set the bar really high when it came to police procedurals.

That was quite an episode.  That’s all I’ve got for this week folks.  Starting to get short and sweet here.  Until next time, I am the Baumeister, and I have been, obediently yours.
