Top 10 Roundup #7

Hello everyone! Welcome back to another edition of the “Top 10 Roundup”!  Now, I know that for the last couple of weeks, we’ve been covering shows that I’ve either wanted to finish watching, or have to start watching.  Well, today is going to continue that trend…slightly.  This week, we’re diving into anime, as I pick ten anime shows that I need to either start, finish, or re-watch.

I’ve been seeing love for this show all over the place.  I’ve seen clips of this show, and it is bloody.  Like, running down the streets bloody.  Which, makes sense considering the show’s premise.  I want to watch this just because of the incredible hype of the show.

So, my former co-worker Brian is huge into anime.  One day, while we were working together, we got on the subject of what sort of anime shows I could get into.  The first one he went to was “Attack on Titan”.  After we talked for a little bit, I brought up “Fullmetal Alchemist”.  He recommended that I go with “Brotherhood”.  Which, would make sense.  Brotherhood is shorter, due to the amount of filler cut out of the episodes.  Which is fine with me.

Oh Dragon Ball.  How I have yet to finish an entire season of you.  At least, that I can remember anyway.  I really can’t remember if I have actually have finished a season of any one of the four series above (technically not Super since it’s still coming out weekly in Japan).  Anyway, I think it’s about time to remedy that.  Very, very soon.

I remember very brief clips from this show thanks to voluntary insomnia during junior high and high school, but it always seemed interesting to me.  And now that I’m older, I feel like I can appreciate the show more.

Here’s another show that I can really appreciate now that I’m older.  Based on the premise that the title of “The World’s Greatest Thief” has been passed down to the grandson of Arsene Lupin, the series (both in written and visual forms) have been praised ever since it’s creation…nearly 50 years ago.  This is an example of a series that continues to shine despite it’s age.

I’ve only seen maybe two episodes of this show.  And I love the premise.  The fact that all you have to do in this world, assuming you have this book, is write someone’s name down in it, and they are instantly wiped out.  Now, I don’t know about you, but that’s a lot of power one person could wield.  And, if it falls into the wrong hands…oh goodness could there be consequences.

By far probably the SILLIEST anime/manga on this list, I simply ADORE the antics of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo and his very eclectic cast of characters.  Seriously.  When you have Don Patch, a sun…creature…thing, Jelly Jiggler (needs no explanation), and Torpedo Girl (again, no explanation needed), and a premise based around all forms of hair, what’s not to love? Or am I just that weird.

Moving back into the realm of serious, this is another one of those anime that I caught at a very late hour, but, unlike Trigun, I don’t remember much about this anime.  Hopefully, I can remedy that out in the future.

The only one of these anime that, up until recently, hadn’t even heard up, Hellsing Ultimate looks to be a very dark, gritty, and gory anime.  And I’m kinda excited for it.

Now, I’ve seen some of the 4Kids dub, and read some of the manga, and I have to say, this show is just as wacky in premise as Bo-bobo.  However, there are some darker moments in there, but, it’s a fun show, and I can’t wait, even if I have to catch the whole thing in Japanese, to watch.

That’s all I’ve got for you today.  Do you have any anime recommendations? How about any shows in general that I haven’t already listed in the last couple of weeks.  Until next time, I am the Baumeister, and I am, obediently yours.
